Echo Orchard / About

Listen to what the source can tell us.

Echo Orchard approaches personal recordings as material to handle carefully and describe clearly.

01

Keep the original in the conversation

The crackle of a record and a quiet voice on a cassette are not the same problem. We distinguish the source, the playback process and any requested editing before proposing a workflow. That makes the result easier to understand and avoids turning a transfer enquiry into an unrealistic restoration promise.

A source can be meaningful without being technically perfect. We focus on making suitable recordings accessible, preserving the agreed sequence and keeping filenames useful. Where a carrier is fragile, contaminated or damaged, the responsible decision may be specialist assessment before ordinary playback.

02

Private material stays a private project

Family voices, personal messages and rehearsal recordings can involve other people’s privacy and rights. We discuss authorisation and handling with the person commissioning the transfer. Nothing is presented as a public portfolio or published collection simply because it has been converted into a file.
